Magic Leap Commits to OpenXR & WebXR Support Later This Year

Magic Leap keeps moving away from some kind of proprietary development environment on its first headset, and has committed to bringing OpenXR support to its Magic Leap 2 headset later this year.

While the Magic Leap 2 is the obvious successor to the Magic Leap 1, the headset’s goals are quite different. With the first headset, the company is trying to attract developers who will create entertainment and consumer-focused apps, with ideas for how its “Lumin OS” handles apps and how apps should be built.
