Augmented reality (AR) enables companies to deliver highly personalized interactive experiences that allow them to engage with customers on a whole new level. But while filters that digitally alter people’s appearance can add a lot of value, they also come at a cost: AR apps designed to let customers virtually try on makeup or other products could have a major impact on mental health, new research suggests negative impact.
