Researchers from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) have developed a method to improve the authenticity of low-cost, projection-based augmented reality devices through special glasses that can bring the projected 3D image in and out of focus at the same time .
If the object is real, they will take the approach that overcomes the key perceptual obstacle of actually using the projection system in a controlled environment.
